The top qualities of a good translator are being able to fluently speak the languages you are translating, being able to translate between different languages fluently, having a strong understanding of the topic of what you are translating, and being able to translate without changing the meaning of what is being said. Learning a language has no end since tongues never stop evolving. Thus, translators should be as passionate about learning languages as they are for their job. They have to be eager to learn.
